The short version: your boards live on your iPhone, Lacey works on your iPhone, and you don’t need an account. The only things that ever reach us are links you ask Lace to preview, and your email if you join the waitlist.
The Lace app
No account. You don’t sign up to use Lace.
Your boards stay on your device. Cards, photos, voice notes, laces and folders are stored on your iPhone. We can’t see them.
Lacey runs on your device. Finding by meaning, reading photos, transcribing voice notes and writing (with Apple Intelligence) all happen on your iPhone. Nothing is sent to us or used to train anything.
Link previews. When you save a link, Lace asks our preview server to fetch that page’s title and image. The server fetches the page, sends the preview back, and doesn’t keep the link or the result. It doesn’t know who you are.
Backups are yours. Exporting makes a file you choose where to put. We never receive it.
iCloud sync (coming later) will use your own iCloud account through Apple. Your data goes to your iCloud, not to us.
Permissions. Photos, microphone and speech recognition are only used for the things you start: adding a photo, recording or transcribing a voice note.
This website and the waitlist
Waitlist. If you join, we store your email address and the date you joined. We use it only to invite you to the beta and tell you when Lace launches. No newsletter, no selling, no sharing.
Where it’s kept. The list is stored with Cloudflare, which hosts this site. A Cloudflare check may run on the form to stop bots signing up.
No tracking. This site has no advertising, analytics or cross-site trackers.
